Grapes:
Tannat 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 25%, Merlot 20%, Petit verdot 5%
Vinification:
From the excellent 2006 vintage, this wine was produced from a rigorous selection of hand-harvested Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon,
Merlot and Petit Verdot.
At the winery, the grapes are sorted and undergo another selection, to assure that only the finest grapes are used. Traditional
fermentation techniques are used and the wine is then aged in new French “Alliers” oak barrels.
The ageing barrels of wine are carefully monitored with only the finest batches used in the final “assemblage”, which is then
aged for another 8 months in new French oak barrels in order to enhance its complexity and to ensure that the finished wine reflects both the
passion and commitment of the Pizzorno family.
Bottled in June 2008 without being fined, filtered or cold-stabilized, this wine should continue to evolve with another eight years
or so of cellaring.
