Harvest
1999
For Viña William Fèvre, 1999 was a good year concerning production
and quality. In deed, low raining and temperatures are factors that lowered
in a considerable way the yields of the vineyards. This resulted in wines
with more concentration, aromas, and a longer guard.
More specifically, reds had a loss in the yield of 25%, giving more structure
and body.
Carménère 1998 won a gold medal at CATAD'OR 1999. This fragile
structure variety had a very small production, producing a wine with a great
structure and black fruit aromas.
The Cabernet sauvignon 1999, from old vines, was elaborated according to
an old French tradition of vinification. This wine spent several months
in authentic French oak barrels, giving a complex and elegant wine.
For the first time Viña William Fèvre gives the name "Gran
Cuvée de la Viña William Fèvre" to these exceptional
wines. A name that reflects very well the combination between the "chilean
terroir" and the French know how. We may say that the 1999's harvest
will keep in mind of the "Connaisseurs". So don't lose the new
wines of La Misión, who will be soon in LA CAV.
