William Fèvre - Chile
La Misión: Antis 2004

Antis:   34% Carmenère - 33% Cabernet Sauvignon - 33%Cabernet Franc

The grapes for this special bottling come from our best plants of our best blocks on Alto Maipo Valley. This selection has been developed in several years of research and knowledge about each single vineyard. Low yielding production, ideal weather conditions, high radiation and low minimal temperatures during ripening of the fruit give us wines of a perfect balance.

Winemaking Process:
Once the ANTIS grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg boxes, they are, destemmed and placed into fermenting tanks.
After a maceration of four days, the wine is fermented with selected yeast, keeping the temperature under 30ºC.
The post-fermentation maceration lasts three weeks, allowing to achieve a better extraction of good tannins. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is conserved during 14 months in new French oak barrels from the best barrel coopers, allowing greater complexity. This wine is aged 12 months in the bottle before being released.

Tasting note:
This ANTIS 2004 is an exceptional wine. With a deep purple color, it has an impressive first nose of blueberry, blackberry and chocolate. Developing wonderful aromas in the glass after some minutes like tobacco, cedar and caramel.
On the palate, it has a great structure, it's full bodied, powerful and concentrated, and in the same way soft and silky.
The aftertaste is magnificent, with a long ending. Simply a supreme experience.
